My Post-Birth Bleeding Reusable Option. Mama you've got to read this!

If I had to sum it up in a few words, it'll be Comfortable, effective and a must try!

No wonder I am already here after just 6 days of giving birth writing this blog, as I want you to know there are far more comfortable options than disposables.

Here I eagerly want to share my experience and the benefits when using these reusables instead of disposables.

I never was a fan of those big, long uncomfortable postpartum disposable pads. And who is? Those parents who already gave birth, know what I am speaking about. They used to make me feel 100 years old and so uncomfortable. After my first two births I couldn't walk properly as they move consistently and are so thick, whilst you have to change every hour or so because of heavy bleeding that typically will last for 24-36 hours. It is very common that lighter bleeding will last till 6 weeks after.

And so, this time round, I was sure I wanted to swap to something more sustainable and comfortable and this is what I switched too- WUKA period pants and BABA and Boo period pads. To be sure I didn't use disposables, I just didn't take any of the disposables but just reusables. This is me and it doesn't have to be the same for you. Even just one reusable will make alot of difference, believe me!

As soon as I gave birth and took a shower, I wore the WUKA super heavy flow midi brief pants. Honestly, I never felt so comfortable during this time. I could walk and sit properly without checking the pad every second it moves. The first two days of heavy bleeding (which is quite common for everyone) I suggest using it with a reusable pad and changing more frequently to prevent leaks. This doubling up I would say it's necessary at least for the first 2 days. Makes it easy to change your pad and have an extra barrier from leaks. (I will say that WUKA are more than enough for heavy bleeding with your normal period but the first couple of days post birth are another level and you will need to change often.)

Alternating with the WUKA pants I wore also the x large BABA and BOO reusable pads on top of my underwear and their job was amazing too. I changed around 6 reusable x large baba and boo pads the first day. With every change, I used to rinse them under tap warm water and ditch them in the wet bag I was using for the cloth nappies. If you are not using cloth nappies you can have with you a normal medium wet bag (waterproof and no smell will come out) Then I washed everything once I got home (not me, the washing machine!).

After the first two days have passed, I was constantly light bleeding and the WUKA hipster medium flow (which I use for normal periods) was more than enough absorbency for this, keeping me so much comfortable. I kept on using the Midi Brief super heavy flow pants during night time and also when I am out and about. The same care goes for the pants. I rinse them under tap warm water and ditch them in the wet bag for later washing. Do not use any fabric softener with them.

From Post- Birth to normal periods.

Obviously, you can keep on using them when you are menstruating. Having said that, the beauty of investing in these reusables is that they will be useful for you for so many years to come( post birth or normal periods) whilst reducing waste obviously by far more than using disposables. It makes the investment wise completely worth it whilst you feel more comfortable and not putting synthetic material with your skin. In fact I recommend them to those women out there who suffer from sensitive skin issues. I am sure that this switch will solve your problem.

Not to feel overwhelmed, take the challenge and try out just one pants or pads and for sure you'll get on board!
